Living Broken Before the King: A Consecration Blog!

Have you ever experienced a level of hurt and brokenness where you never thought you would love, trust, or feel whole again? Have you ever trusted your heart with the wrong people’s hands? Or your vulnerability with the wrong people’s hearts? Or your secrets with the wrong people’s ears?

I have been there. I have been hurt, betrayed, and talked about by people. How did I get over it? How did I overcome the hurt that cut deeply? How did I continue to love, forgive, and move forward? I did it all by pouring out my brokenness on the heart fixer (Jesus). I did it all by putting my heart and broken pieces into the Potter’s hands.

There is no need for you to come to God artificially. He wants the real you; the brokenness, the hurt, and the ugliness. If you can be honest with yourself, then you know that we’ve all experienced some level of hurt, betrayal, pain, and brokenness. God is always there ready to give us hope, healing, power, and love.

There is a level of brokenness that we must live in before God. I am not speaking in a negative connotation. I am speaking towards being surrendered to God and used by God. A lifestyle of consecration. Consecrate means to make holy or to dedicate to a higher purpose. If you are an intercessor and worshipper like myself, then there is a certain level of brokenness and consecration that must remain in your heart. Surrendering must become your heart’s posture. God wants to heal you from heartbreak, pain, molestation, bitterness, and grief. We must first come to him, surrender, and lay it all at his feet.

Did you know that there is still a certain level of brokenness that we must maintain? This kind of brokenness doesn’t leave scars. This kind of brokenness doesn’t make you angry, hurt, or sad. This kind of brokenness makes you free, surrender, walk by faith, walk in love, pray, worship, and praise God almighty.

God is calling you to go higher.
God is calling you to live in holy and righteousness.
God is calling you to love your neighbor as yourself.
God is calling you to give up yourself freely unto him as a living sacrifice holy and acceptable and pleasing unto him.
God is calling you to live gracefully broken before the king. The way you get to that place is by living a consecrated lifestyle.

There is a level of brokenness developing inside of you. This kind of brokenness will make you a better servant, woman, wife, mother, sister, and friend. God is raising you to live gracefully broken before the king. Living broken before the king will keep you humble. Living broken before the king will make you a vessel that he can use for his glory because you realize that it’s not about you but all for the glory and will of God. Living broken will cause you to consecrate yourself to the king.

I want to encourage you to:
Pray more.
Fast more.
Worship more.
Praise more.
Pour out your heart to God.
Keep him first.
Seek the kingdom.
Live graceful broken before the king.

Matthew 26:7 “While he was eating, a woman came in with a beautiful alabaster jar of expensive perfume and poured it over his head.”

Love always,

Lady Shanika Barnes
