Secured In Christ: The Hat of a Wife!

I object! I am not the lies they told and I am not the pain I carried.
I object! I am not helpless. I am not alone. I am not depressed or oppressed.
I object! I am not what he said or she said, but I am confidently secured in Christ.

I wear many hats. I am a daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, niece, and friend. You may be a teacher, nurse, doctor, social worker, manager, guidance counselor, or entrepreneur. There are many hats that you may wear, but today I want to focus on the hat of a wife.

Being a wife isn’t always easy. It comes with pleasures and problems, and sometimes more problems than pleasures. However, being a wife is an assignment bestowed on a woman by God. Although it comes with problems and pleasures, it also comes with divine protection. God has graced you with the ability to carry out this assignment. Yes, this is more than a title. This is an assignment.

In this assignment, you will experience cloudy days, rainy days, and toughs days. Some of these days will push you to a point where you start doubting your ability to carry out the assignment. Please don’t fret; trouble is a sure sign of triumph. I am reminded right now what the Apsotle Paul encourages us saying, “Thanks be unto God who always causes us to triumph.” God will cause you to triumph as a wife. Even when the devil comes against you, God gives you power to triumph! I want to take a moment to encourage you that your security has been cleared by Christ. Yes, you have a top clearance. You are cleared to walk out the vision.

Cleared to birth the ministry.
Cleared to raise the children.
Cleared to cover your husband.
Cleared to break generational curses.
Cleared to overcome depression.
Cleared to overcome fear.
Cleared to overcome poverty.
Cleared to overcome struggles.

Daughter you have a clear path and a top clearance. Does this mean that insecurities won’t try to pop their head up? No! It will be your responsibility to keep yourself reminded that you are secured in Christ. You are secured from low self-esteem. You are secured from past relationships that yielded domestic violence. You are secured from your promiscuous past. You are secured from brokenness. Whatever you do, don’t take off that hat! That hat looks good on you.

There is some hurt under that hat but it still looks good. There are some sleepless nights under that hat, but it still looks good. There are some heartaches and headaches under that hat, but it still looks good. You’ve cried many tears under that hat, but it still looks good on you. You are secured in Christ.

So, when you begin to question if you are good enough for, strong enough for, or called to this position, look to Christ for your security. You’ve fought too many demons, too many devils, and too many battles to lose your clearance. You’ve been ridiculed, laughed at, and talked about but you will not lose your clearance.

Daughter, you are secured in Christ.
Sister, you are secured in Christ.
Girl, you are secured in Christ.

Continue to wear your hat and wear it well, because you are secured in Christ.

Love always,

Lady Shanika Barnes
